Survival Storehouse's website runs on easonet (operated by OzStorehouse), which handles enquiries and orders for this shop. These terms apply to anything you ask about or buy here.

Who we are

OzStorehouse (ozstorehouse.com) is a local online marketplace for the NSW Central Coast, run from Gosford NSW, Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you contact a seller (Contact to Buy, an offer, a question, a pickup or postage request): your name, email address, phone number, suburb or postcode, and your message.

When you create a buyer account, post on the Want Board or request a commission: your name, email address, suburb, and what you are looking for.

When you sell on OzStorehouse: your name, business or store name, email, phone, suburb, profile photo, bio, listings and photos, and — if you choose to connect it — your PayPal Client ID.

When you subscribe to an email list: your email address and which list you joined.

When you use My Coast List: the things you save, the list name and first name you choose, and — only if you ask us to email you the list — your email address.

When you browse: pages and listings viewed, the site that sent you here, campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source), device type, and the country your connection comes from (we use this to keep the marketplace Australia-only). We use your IP address briefly to limit spam and abuse.

We do not collect or store card or bank details. PayPal payments are handled entirely by PayPal.

Why we use it

To run the marketplace: passing your enquiry to the seller you contacted, logging you in, sending order, offer and Want Board updates, and showing sellers who they are dealing with.

To keep the marketplace safe: preventing spam, fraud and repeat bad behaviour, and reviewing reported listings or users.

To improve the site and understand which channels (Facebook, Google, markets) bring people here.

To send emails you have signed up for, such as the weekly seller digest. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.

We do not sell your personal information.

Sellers see your contact details

OzStorehouse is built around direct contact. When you contact a seller, they receive the name, email, phone and suburb you entered so they can reply and arrange payment, pickup or delivery. Once a seller has your details, how they use them is their responsibility — please only share what you are comfortable with.

My Coast List

My Coast List lets you save listings here, and garage sales, markets and events on our sister site TOPYN (topyn.com), into one list. You do not need an account: your list is linked to a random code kept in your browser. When you move between OzStorehouse and TOPYN, that code travels in the link so it stays one list.

Your list is private until you share its link. Anyone with the share link can see the list name, the first name you added (if any) and the saved items, but never your email address. Sellers are not told who saved their items.

If you ask us to email you your list, we use your email address to send it, and — only if you tick the box — to tell you when something on your list sells, drops in price or is coming up. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link. To delete a list, email us and we will remove it.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage to keep you logged in, remember your session, remember how you first arrived at the site (for up to 90 days), and keep your My Coast List and recently viewed listings in your browser.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure our Facebook advertising. These services set their own cookies and receive information about your visit, such as pages viewed and actions like contacting a seller. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, manage ad preferences in your Facebook settings, or block third-party cookies in your browser.

Services we use

We use trusted providers to run the site, and they process data on our behalf: Vercel (website hosting), Cloudflare (network and security), Supabase (database and image storage), Brevo (email delivery), PayPal (payments, where a seller uses it), Google (Analytics) and Meta (Facebook Pixel).

Our database is hosted in Sydney, Australia. Some of our other providers process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We choose established providers with their own security and privacy commitments.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it to run the marketplace, keep it safe, and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account or information at any time (see below).

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text; connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS); and access to the admin side of the site is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you — email mark@ozstorehouse.com. We will respond within 30 days. You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it.

If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
